Code of ethics

To realize efficient products from the qualitative, economic and environmental point of view, by offering useful projectual solutions, resulting as a synthesis between research, innovation and design: this is the aim of our work.

Credibility and reputation have an inestimable importance in our activity execution.

This awareness creates the needing to clearly express communal principles, virtues and responsibilities, which guide our behaviours in the relationships with commerce, with people that work with us and for us, and with anyone else interesting in our activity.

These virtues and principles, built up during our story, find their synthesis in our Code of Ethics.

The knowledge and the observance of this Code of Ethics by all of us in Garbarini’s, is a decisive factor to guarantee our company efficiency, reliability and excellence.

Therefore, I call upon you to read our decalogue to find on the one hand, I hope, a confirmation of fondamentals virtues that inspire our way of making business and, on the other hand, I’m sure, to discover lots of communal  perspectives, as a result of both our story and shared landmark examples.

Virginio Garbarini

“Places wherein capitalism is still able to toil to bring home the bacon are wonderful. Places wherein is not used to multiply the loaves and fishes with political handouts or financial flips, but on the contrary, it’s used to have patience and to work hard to give ideas their physical shape.”

Michele Serra – writer

“I’m fully convinced that a businessman has to be honest, in the broader sense of the word. What I mean is that is not enough not to steal or to give false testimony.

Talking about honesty, I think about a specific behaviour to actionists and employees, but also to clients, suppliers, rivals, tax assessors… I think that, apart from moral principles, being honest is worthwhile both for the businessman itself and his own company.”

Leopoldo Pirelli – Businessman

“Adess ghe capissaremm on quaicoss: andemm a vedegh denter” (italian dialect)

“Now we’re going to get a handle on this, let’s go and have a look in”

(In 1927 the “Emanueli” cable with 132.000 volt lighted up New York and Chicago)

Luigi Emanueli – Engineer supervisor of R&S Pirelli Cables

Gro Harlem Brundtland – Ex Prime Minister of Norwegian government

“Human formula: the secret is to make everybody working in harmony. That’s why we listen so much to our staff, irrespective of the level they have: we try to make them feel at home and to help if they have problems”

Jean Todt – Ex Chief executive of Ferrari Spa

“In our opinion wealth is found inside of persons and it’s just there that the most valuable money stands: creativity. It’s a spark everyone can have if they work in a place with ethic frankness, with confidence and the chance to socialize and share. To be in an affection mood is the new real added value to grow up in a strongly competitive market”

Nerio Alessandri – Patron of Tecnogym company

“If everything you do works, then you’re not taking many risks and probably aren’t innovating either.”

Paul Buchheit – computer programmer Gmail inventor

“We don’t make movies to make money, we make money to make more movies”
